Moving tote rental in Ontario: 8 companies compared

By Steven, Founder  ·  October 2026  ·  Brampton, ON

I run one of these companies, so read this with that in mind. I have also sat where you are, comparing eight websites where half of them will not tell you a price, and I got tired enough of it to write the comparison myself. Including the parts where we lose.

Every figure below came off the company's own website on 25 October 2026. Where a company does not publish something, I have said so rather than guessed. Prices move, so if you are reading this months later, check before you trust it.

The short version

If you want the fastest honest answer: The Mover's Choice is the cheapest way to get totes in the GTA if you can collect them yourself from Mississauga on a weekday. A dollar per box per week is hard to beat and we do not try.

If you cannot do that, the question becomes who delivers to you and what that costs once everything is added up. That is where it gets murky, and that is what the rest of this is for.

The table

Company Published price Delivery & collection Large bin size Dolly
ToteMove$119 / 20 totes / 14 days, then $1 per tote per weekBoth included24 × 20 × 12 in (94 L), 60 lbsIncluded

Four of the eight do not publish a price at all. That is the first thing worth noticing.

The thing nobody puts on the pricing page

Two of these companies expect you to come and get the totes. Vaultra hands them over at 125 Ironside Drive in Brampton, and their page says plainly: no scheduled pickup, no courier. The Mover's Choice collects from Meyerside Drive in Mississauga, free, Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm.

Both of those are genuinely good deals. But work out what collecting actually involves. Forty totes is not a car load. It is a cargo van or it is three trips, and you are doing it twice, because they have to go back. The Mover's Choice window also means taking time off work, since 7am to 4pm on a weekday is not when most people are free to move boxes across Mississauga.

None of that makes them the wrong choice. If you own a truck, or you are renting one for the move anyway, collecting is close to free money. I am pointing at it because the price on the page is not the price of the job, and the gap is a vehicle and two afternoons.

Delivery "available" is not delivery included

Watch the wording. Vaultra's reservation form asks whether you want the boxes sent to you and notes that additional fees apply, without saying what they are. The Mover's Choice says delivery and pickup are available and does not publish a fee either. Cargo Cabbie says bins arrive at your door but does not say what that costs.

FROGBOX and Moovy both include it properly. FROGBOX states one delivery and one pickup in the bundle price. Moovy lists free local delivery covering a drop and a collection. Easy2Go says free bin delivery and collection throughout the GTA. Those are clean.

If a company will not publish the delivery fee, get it in writing before you book. We wrote a whole post on what "included" can hide, because this is the single most common place a quote grows after you have agreed to it.

Where each one is genuinely better than us

The Mover's Choice

Cheaper, and not by a little. Twenty boxes for a week costs $20 if you collect them. Ours is $119. Their boxes are also rated to 80 lbs where ours are rated to 60, and they have been doing this since 1988. If you are in Mississauga with a van and a free weekday morning, call them.

FROGBOX

Their large box is 24 by 20 by 12 inches, which is exactly our size. Identical. They are a franchise with far wider coverage than we will ever have, and they include delivery and collection the same way we do. Their extra weeks run $1.50 per box against our $1, so we are cheaper the longer you keep them, but on a one-week job there is not much in it.

Vaultra Storage

For actual storage rather than moving, they win on price and it is not close. Forty bins for $60 over four weeks. The same job with us is $279, because our pricing is built for a two-week move and the extension charge adds up fast. We say the same thing on our own storage bin rental page. If you need bins for a month and you can collect them, go to Vaultra.

Cargo Cabbie, Moovy, Easy2Go, 123Pack

All of them cover Toronto properly, which we do not. 123Pack works the north and east of the GTA, Aurora through Markham. Cargo Cabbie is downtown Toronto and has the strongest brand of anyone here. If your move is inside the city, we are not even on the list.

Where we are actually different

Three things, and they are checkable rather than claims.

Moving blankets. Not one other company on this list mentions them. We put 2 to 5 in every package depending on size, at no extra cost. The Mover's Choice sells them as a separate product, which is the closest anyone comes.

Fourteen days, not seven. Most of this industry prices a week and bills extra after that. Our 14 days covers a week to pack and a week to unpack, which is how moves actually run once a closing date slides.

Where we deliver. Erin, Hillsburgh, Acton, Orangeville, Caledon, Bolton. The companies above are built around Toronto and the inner GTA, and the smaller towns in the corridor are an afterthought or a surcharge. They are our whole service area. If you are moving in Hillsburgh, your realistic options are us or a lot of cardboard.

Pick on landed cost and geography, not headline price. Add delivery, collection, a dolly and the number of weeks you actually need. Then check the company covers your address. Half the companies on this list would have to say no to a move in Erin, and the cheapest one needs you to drive to Mississauga on a Tuesday.

How to compare two quotes properly

Frequently asked questions

What are the alternatives to FROGBOX in Ontario?

The main ones are The Mover's Choice and Vaultra Storage in Mississauga and Brampton, Moovy, Cargo Cabbie and Easy2Go Movers across Toronto and the GTA, 123Pack in the north and east GTA, and ToteMove across the GTA West corridor. FROGBOX includes delivery and collection and uses a 24 by 20 by 12 inch box, so the useful comparisons are on price, rental length and whether the company covers your address.

Who is the cheapest moving tote rental in the GTA?

On published prices, The Mover's Choice at $1 per box per week, if you collect the boxes yourself from their Mississauga facility between 7am and 4pm on a weekday. For storage rather than moving, Vaultra Storage at $60 for 40 bins per four-week cycle, again on depot collection. Once delivery and collection are required, the gap between companies narrows considerably.

Do I need a big vehicle to rent moving totes?

Only if the company expects you to collect them. Vaultra Storage and The Mover's Choice both offer free self-collection from a depot, and 40 totes will not fit in a car. FROGBOX, Moovy, Easy2Go and ToteMove include delivery and collection, so no vehicle is needed at all.

Which tote rental companies include delivery in the price?

As published in October 2026: ToteMove, FROGBOX, Moovy and Easy2Go Movers include both delivery and collection. Vaultra Storage charges additional fees for delivery without publishing them. The Mover's Choice and Cargo Cabbie offer delivery but do not publish a price for it. 123Pack does not say either way.

How big are moving totes?

The common large size is 24 by 20 by 12 inches, roughly 94 litres, used by ToteMove, FROGBOX and The Mover's Choice. Smaller formats run 75 to 79 litres, including Moovy at 22.5 by 18 by 11.5 inches, 123Pack at 23.6 by 15.75 by 12.4, and Vaultra at 25 by 15.5 by 12.5. Compare total volume rather than bin count, since a 79 litre bin holds about 16% less than a 94 litre one.

Which companies deliver to Orangeville, Erin or Hillsburgh?

ToteMove covers Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon, Bolton, Georgetown, Halton Hills, Acton, Orangeville, Erin and Hillsburgh. The other companies on this list are built around Toronto and the inner GTA, and the smaller Dufferin and Wellington towns generally sit outside their stated service areas.

A note on how this was put together

I checked each company's own website on 25 October 2026 and used only what they publish. I have not phoned anyone for a quote, so where a company keeps its pricing behind a form, this post says so instead of filling the gap with a guess.

If you work at one of these companies and something here is out of date or wrong, email hello@totemove.ca and I will correct it. I would rather this was accurate than flattering.

If the GTA West corridor is your move, we're built for it.

Totes, a dolly, 2 to 5 moving blankets, delivery and collection, in a 14-day window. From $119 across Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon, Georgetown, Halton Hills, Acton, Bolton, Erin, Orangeville and Hillsburgh.
